Speaking with God in the New Year

Dear Beloveds,

We stand at the start of a fresh new year, and we all share and face all the wonderful possibilities that God has for us. This is an unveiling of our opportunity to grow, to change, and to evolve into new creatures, all rooted in the hope that we have in and through Jesus.

Isaiah 43:19 says that God is making a new way for us, with beautiful imagery of paths in the wilderness and “rivers in the desert”. This passage speaks of new paths of renewal and healing and restoration and this wonderful imagery that the author lays out for us shows us the symbolism of God’s blessings and provision for everyone. But more so, it talks about a spiritual renewal that we can experience.

Dear ones, I hope that as we welcome in this new year, you would be able to ask God to speak to you in new ways.

Here are a few things that we might consider for our new year and our journey with God:

1) Ask God to renew your spirit!

2) Extend a fresh new grace to people, even those who are difficult for you in your life. Try to look at things in a positive light, not a negative one.

3) Take up the mantle of serving others in new ways

4) Embrace what God might have in store for you!

Friends, this year is a new, blank canvas! The possibilities are endless for our spiritual journeys!
